The popular Recon 1 has now come in a very small version: the Micro Recon 1. It shares a lot of features with its big brother: the indestructible Tri-Ad lock, the G10 handles and the AUS8A-steel blade with a black coating. The thumb stud ensures that also this little knife can be opened with one hand. Despite the dimensions, the biggest difference with the large version is the fact that the pocket clip has been replaced by a keychain ring. This version has a spearpoint-shaped blade.

Dit mesje gekocht als kleine backup-EDC. Is behoorlijk klein; openen met de duimsteun gaat wel goed na even oefenen. Nu heeft het sinds een maand of twee een vaste plek in mijn EDC-roulatie in het 5e zakje van mijn jeans, samen met de Pry tool 1 van Kershaw (brilant tooltje!). Met die twee kan ik 90% van de huis-tuin-en-keukenklusjes aan.
AUS-8 is mij tot nu toe goed bevallen in andere messen. Vlijmscherp te slijpen en stroppen en aardig scherptebehoud. De fabrieks-slijping was niet 100% symmetrisch; dit heeft even wat werk gekost, maar nu is het scheermesscherp. Openen en sluiten gaat goed; de Tri-ad vergrendeling is hierbij soepel genoeg en meer dan sterk genoeg voor de kracht die je met zo'n klein mesje kan zetten. Beetje prijzig maar functioneel EDC-mesje.

leuke sleutelhanger, het is altijd handig om wat extra gereedschap bij je te dragen als je je edc vergeten ben.

Ideaal mesje voor aan de sleutelhanger of gewoon in de tas, het kwam vlijmscherp uit de doos.

Griffschalen sind leider nur aus Plastik und machen nicht den hochwertigsten Eindruck. Die Klinge dieses AMERIKANISCHEN Topprodukts stammt aus Taiwan, ist aber immerhin sauscharf.
Beim Einklappen der Klinge muss man schon ein bisschen fummeln, ist im Neuzustand zumindest relativ schwergängig.
