The **Fällkniven PXL Black Micarta** is a cool and decent pocket knife for daily use. So an EDC pocket knife. However, because of its look and feel it could also function as a gentleman's knife. With the PXL you radiate class and elegance. But also that you are not afraid to get to work!

 A pocket knife can look amazing. However, if you can't use it, it won't do you any good. This condition is something Fällkniven can easily adhere to. They used Elmax for the blade. A top-quality type of steel that is hard, and therefore retains its sharpness well. The result is also that the blade can be a little thinner just above the edge. As such the PXL is amazing to use.

 To further optimize the cutting qualities and the sharpness retention Fällkniven enhanced the blade with a convex grind. That is why there is no secondary V-edge. Instead the grind runs convex from the side of the blade in one line towards the edge. As such there is a less cutting resistance. Fällkniven's fixed knives have been renowned for this fact for years.

 The handle is comprised of steel liners with steel bolster. Nice and decent. The scales are made from micarta. That's a composite material of linen and synthetic resin. Micarta feels great in hand and can withstand the elements well.

 You easily open the Fällkniven PXL with one hand with the double thumb studs. The great thing about a relatively large and heavy knife such as this is that the thumb studs are relatively subtle. To create enough traction for your thumb the ends of the studs are enhanced with a subtle texture. Once opened the blade is locked by a solid liner lock.

Top mes met een fantastische convex slijping 

Uitstekend mes. Was mijn eerdere PXL verloren en daarom vervanger gekocht. Eerdere heb ik 14 jaar dag in dag uit gebruikt. Voor alles, tot de verbouwing van mijn huis toe! Betrouwbaar, stevig, scherp! Het enige wat slijt is de broekzak waaraan de clip bevestigd is, maar dat is een klein offer. 

Ich befand mich seit geraumer Zeit mit mir und meiner Brieftasche im Zwiespalt. Letztendlich gewann ich und bestellte mir dann dieses lang ersehnte Klappmesser Fällkniven PXL Black Micarta PXLbm Elmax. Und natürlich kam noch eine PXL Cordura Messerscheide dazu, um die Sache komplett zu machen. Danach zählte ich die Stunden bis der Postbote bei mir klingelte.

Als ich das Messer dann aber endlich in meinem Händen hielt, war meine Euphorie verflogen. Das Messer ist vom Design her ein Meisterstück. Eine absolute Augenweite und es war Rasierklingen-scharf. Aber als ich dann mit dem Messer spielte und ich es durch meine Hände gleiten ließ, spürte ich Unebenheiten bei den Übergängen vom Micarta zum Metall. Diese waren nicht in gleicher Höhe gefertigt, sodass es zu einem sogenannten „Raspel-Effekt“ kam, strich man mit den Fingern über diese Flächen. Auch waren Spalten an den Seiten zwischen den Stößen vom Micarta zum Metall zu erkennen. 

Ich reklamierte das Messer und bestellte mir ein neues in der Hoffnung, dass dieses dann meinen Erwartungen entsprechen wird. Leider war auch das zweite von der gleichen schlechten Qualität, wie das erste.

Ich bin enttäuscht. Somit ist mein Traum, Besitzer eines Fellkniven PXL zu sein erst einmal geplatzt. Eigentlich schade.
Meiner Meinung sollte ein Messer, was über 300,-€ kostet auch der Preisklasse entsprechend verarbeitet sein.
