The **HORL Premium sharpening kit** is comprised of two sharpening stones made from aluminium oxide and a leather strop. With the diamond-coated sharpening stone you can quickly end up with razor-sharp kitchen knives. With these J3000 and J6000 grit stones you, however, end up with the sharpness your knives deserve. This set is a sharpening set for the HORL sharpening system. You will need the HORL knife sharpener if you want to use the two sharpening stones. The leather strop is usable without the knife sharpener.



 ### The sharpening stones

 The sharpening stones were designed to further refine the sharpening results of the diamond-coated sharpening stone. And that is exactly what they do. The J3000 grit sharpening stone removes all small, but deep scratches the diamond-coated stone has left behind and leaves you with razor-sharp results. The J6000 grit sharpening stone is even finer. With this stone your edge will almost be perfectly sharp. The J6000 grit sharpening stone is also perfect to occasionally sharpen the edge to delay major maintenance. Both stones can be used without water.

 ### The Strop

 The leather strop is the final step in the sharpening process. The strop is made from plant-based tanned cowhide. Move your knife over the strop a couple of times to smoothen the steel. This provides unparalleled sharpness, making your kitchen knives even sharper than they were when you bought them.

 ### HORL 1993

 At the foot of the Black Forest you'll find HORL. The family business of Otmar and Timo Horl. Father and son. Otmar's idea to create a rolling knife sharpener dates back to the nineties. Throughout the years he and his son Timo designed, updated and produced the knife sharpener.

Junto a mi Horl, decidí comprar también el kit de afilado premium. Este set te permite sacar aún más filo a tu cuchillo, puliendo la hoja. Según las instrucciones, debes dar el mismo número de pasadas por cada lado, pero a medida que el cuchillo que uses esté más cuidado, ese número se reduce. Al principio, daba 60 pasadas en 1 minuto; ahora, con 30 pasadas, me sobra. Tened cuidado con la rebaba, porque esa puede dañar la piedra. En un lado dejo el disco de pulir y en el otro el de cerámica para quitarla con una o dos pasadas. Luego, acabáis y pasáis a la siguiente piedra. Lo mejor es el acabado con el trozo de piel. Diez pasadas por cada lado en el sentido del filo, y el cuchillo está listo para cortar. Una vez que hayas restaurado tus cuchillos, el proceso de mantenimiento y pulido no lleva más de 4-5 minutos.

Ik had de horl2 en was al goed tevreden met de scherpte van de messen, maar nog niet super. na het lezen van andere recenties over gegaan tot aanschaf van dit slijp pakket. Resultaat is super, scherpte is als ze van de slijperij komen. Kost wel wat tijd om het te doen, maar resultaat is daar. Heb je hele botte messen die jaren niet geslepen zijn, dan toch eerst laten prof laten slijpen. Daarna onderhouden met de Horl2 en dit pakket en dan is de slijper niet meer nodig is nu mijn ervaring
