The Opinel pocket knife with wooden handle. Manufactured in 1890  by Joseph Opinel, this handy knife was originally designed for use by local farmers. The Opinel pocket knife is a renowned, yet really affordable pocket knife, ideal for everyday use.

The Opinel pocket knife is a renowned, yet really affordable pocket knife, ideal for everyday use. It is available in a variety of sizes ranging from small to fairly large.  
  


The larger models feature the simple yet effective Virobloc safety twistlock mechanism, which allows the blade to be locked in both the open and the closed positions. This pocket knife is a classic in the true sense of the word.  
  


The blade of this knife is made of carbon steel. It is very easy to sharpen and hone to a thin edge, making it razor sharp, yet very strong. Carbon steel is more susceptible to rust than stainless steel and therefore needs to be cleaned properly and kept dry. If you prefer an Opinel knife with a rust-resistant blade, you can use the knives with stainless steel.
  
  
This knife cannot be etched since it is manufactured from high-carbon steel. The result does not meet our requirements.

Leider war bei diesem die Klinge nicht 100% sauber verarbeitet und ich musste zunächst einen kleinen Grat herausschleifen, was aber kein Problem war.
