With this **Skerper Glass Stone 3000 grit sharpening stone** you can quickly sharpen your knives. This sharpening stone works according to the Splash & Go principle. Simply put: add a splash of water and you are good to go. The sharpening stone is made from top-quality aluminium oxide to make sure it will last a lifetime, is easy to use and will provide you with the best results.

## Splash & Go

To extend the life of the stones they are made from top-quality aluminium oxide. This quickly removes material and only slowly wears out. Because of this abrasive and a special cohesive agent these sharpening stones have another massive advantage. The sharpening stones work with the Splash & Go principle. Add a splash of water and you can get started. You no longer have to submerge the stones in water before use. It is, however, important to make sure the sharpening stone stays wet during use. 

The name might suggest you are sharpening on glass. That is not the case. The base of the sharpening stones is enhanced with a glass sheet. This sheet ensures that the sharpening stone won't bend and will last even longer. The glass also ensures you can use the stone to its full extent. Even as the stone has gotten thinner after years of use. 

## Grain size

The Skerper Glass Stones collection is comprised of four stones with a grain size ranging from coarse to ultra-fine. The 400 grit sharpening stone is perfect when sharpening a damaged of blunt knife. You use the 1000 grit sharpening stone to make sure blunt knives become sharp again. The 3000 grit sharpening stone turns sharp knives into razor-sharp knives. Finally, there is a 6000 grit sharpening stone for those who feel razor-sharp is still not sharp enough. 

The sharpening stones come with a rubber anti-slip base. Great if you don't own a [Skerper Sink Bridge](/en/pt/-skerper-sink-bridge-sharpening-stone-holder-sa002.htm) or other sharpening stone holder yet.

in total, not a bad stone. it does its job, but:
stone loads extremely fast, but cleans just with water and bare hands
not recommending for beginners, couse stone pretty soft and it cuts in easily
3000 and 6000 grit stones came with minor skratches and dirt spots, but this had no effect on performance and was cleaned in 30 sec, only effected firs empression from the box.
in total, stones are fine, but the price should be lower

Very soft, very easily damaged when sharping chisels. Has a lot of suction when flattening the back of a plane iron. The shapton 500 and 1000 are a joy to use compared to this stone. Wish I had gotten the 3000 shapton instead.

De steen zelf is naar mijn gevoel nogal zacht van structuur.  Waardoor je soms al eens een kerf maakt in het oppervlak,  met de snede van uw mes tijdens de beweging heen en weer.  Wel goede slijp eigenschappen.

Den 400er habe ich noch nicht benutzt aber die Verarbeitung des ganzen Sets ist super. Einfach Wasser drauf und los geht es mit dem schleifen. Kann man nur empfehlen.
