## How do you use a Skerper Professional sharpening stone?

Before use you need to submerge the stone in water. You submerge the stone completely and wait about five minutes. Or until you no longer see bubbles coming from the stone. Before you start sharpening place the stone on a (not included) universal sharpening stone holder. The less the stone comes into contact with the surface, the less the water will be sucked through the stone. This is especially key for the 220 stone because the water quickly soaks through the coarse grain.

Make sure the surface of the stone remains wet during use. If it is not the results will be disappointing, and it can even damage the stone. Sharpen the knife on one side until you feel a burr over the entire length of the edge. Now sharpen the other side of the edge until you feel another burr. Now you need to lightly move the edge over the stone to carefully remove the burr. Do you no longer feel the burr? If so you can switch to a finer stone.

 I was impressed with the very quick delivery time and the care taken by the chosen delivery courier to ensure I received it safely.

The quality of the product was very good and excellent instructions on its use were provided on-line. It might be a nice touch to have a printed copy included with the stones so it wasn't necessary to have a computer/phone nearby when first using them. But thats only a minor point.

I did spend more then I initially intended when first looking for some sharpening equipment but glad I did since I can see this as a starting point in learning and developing a new useful skill.

Ottimo kit e con un altrettanto ottimo rapporto qualità / prezzo. Con questo si ha già tutto per la stragrande maggioranza dei lavori di affilatura. Manca solo una flattening stone per appiattire le altre pietre dopo l'uso.
