Le Creuset pans are cast in cast-iron. To this day, these pans are still produced in France. For each individual pan they make a casting mold from sand. This mold is filled with cast-iron. After casting it they remove the sand and what remains is a rough, cast-iron pan. It is finished with a beautiful emaillé non-stick coating. The outside is equipped with one of the characteristic Le Creuset colors. The result is a rock-solid, heavy pan. A true style icon, which will last for generations.

The baking dish is made of high quality and durable stoneware. They can take temperatures from -18 °c to 260 °c so you can put them inside the freezer and/or oven. ## What is a tagine?


The tagine has its origins in North-Africa. Especially stews of meat, fish or vegetables are prepared in the tagine. The tagine is a cooking pot with a very high cover with a cone-like shape. This ensures that condensation constantly flows back in the pot during preparation. This makes the dish flavourful and juicy. To help you, Le Creuset has included an instruction booklet with useful tips and recipes. This is how you make a flying start with the tagine!


The tagine is suitable for all kinds of heat sources, including oven, induction and all electric hot plates. Please note that when used in an oven, the condensation does not flow back in the pot because the lid also gets hot. Obviously, the cast iron pan can also be used for other dishes.

## History of KA-BAR 

KA-BAR's history dates back even further than 1942. As early as 1897, 38 men founded the Tidioute Cutlery Company. That company is considered to be KA-BAR's earliest activity. In 1923, the company, then called Union Cutlery Co. received a letter from a hunter. In the letter he recounted how he'd been attacked by a bear when his gun malfunctioned. In the end, he managed to defend himself using a knife from Union Cutlery Co. The man’s letter was hard to read however, and the only remaining letters of the words 'killed a bear' were K, A, B, A and R. That's when they decided to rename the brand KA-BAR.
