The **Adler Classic Scout Hatchet** will feel right at home by your campfire. It is a small hand axe that is easy to take with you. A good size for chopping kindling, for example. And perfect for a camping or bushcraft trip. The axe is completely produced in Germany and comes with a solid leather sheath.

## The head of the Adler Classic Scout Hatchet

The head is forged from C60 steel. A hard type of carbon steel that is easy to sharpen. The head has a transparent coating that protects the steel from rusting. This coating will wear off with repeated use. Always store your axe in a dry place. The head of the Scout Hatchet has a typical German shape with a wide cutting edge. The small notch on the bottom makes it easier for you to get your hand close to the cutting edge. This is ideal if you want more control. For small cutting tasks around the campsite.

## The handle of the Adler Classic Scout Hatchet

The handle is made from ash wood. This type of wood absorbs blows well. Very important for an axe! The handle has a layer of non-slip paint that makes it very pleasant to hold. All the paint Adler uses is completely water-based. Great for the environment and for everyone at Adler who produces these axes.

**Pay attention when opening the box.** Adler fills the packaging with the leftover material from making the axe handles. Super durable! And easy to reuse, for example as tinder. This does mean that sawdust can fall out of the box when you open it. So open it carefully.

Blij met mijn aankoop.
Precies wat ik zocht, een klein en handzaam bijltje die makkelijk in een kleinere rugzak past.
Zeer ergonomische steel, al heb ik wel de lak eraf geschuurd en een paar lagen wood stain aangebracht. De blijlkop is perfect van gewicht en na een paar halen over de slijpsteen loeischerp (waarschijnlijk zat er wat vernis over de snede)
Het snijvlak is wat getordeerd en loopt niet helemaal netjes in lijn met de steel maar daar merk je niet veel van bij gebruik.
De grain van de steel is ook zeer goed.
Het is een klein ding waar je best wat werk mee kan doen. 
Al met al zeer tevreden.

Leuk bijltje. Doet zijn naam eer aan. Scout. Combineer het met een Mora kansbol en je bent klaar voor dagtochten. Dit is geen bijl voor meerdere dagen imm.
