The **Adler Rheinland axe** is a modern classic. It's a nice size axe. And is therefore ideal for splitting blocks of wood with a diameter of up to 20 cm. Or for cutting down smaller trees. The axe is completely produced in Germany and comes with a solid leather sheath.

## The head of the Adler Rheinland axe

The head is forged from C60 steel. A hard type of carbon steel that is easy to sharpen. The head has a transparent coating that protects the steel from rusting. This coating will wear off with repeated use. Therefore, always store your axe dry. The head of the Rheinland Axe has a typical German shape with a wide cutting edge. The small notch on the bottom makes it easier for you to get your hand close to the cutting edge. This is ideal if you want more control. For instance, if you're removing branches from a trunk.

## The handle of the Adler Rheinland axe

The handle is made from American Hickory wood. This type of wood absorbs blows well. Very important for an axe! The handle has a layer of non-slip paint that makes it very pleasant to hold. All the paint Adler uses is completely water-based. Which is good for the environment, and for everyone at Adler who makes these axes.

**Pay attention when opening the box.** Adler fills the packaging with the leftover material from making the axe handles. Super durable! And easy to reuse, for example as tinder. This does mean that sawdust can fall out of the box when you open it. So open it carefully.
