The **Bark River Bravo 1 Cru-Wear Rampless** was designed for military use, specifically for the United States' Marine Corps. Soon, however, it became clear that this knife could do so much more. Today, the Bravo 1 is a beloved knife amongst bushcraft enthusiasts and hunters. It is solidly constructed, with enough blade thickness for heavy-duty tasks. Perfect for wood work, gutting game and many other outdoor tasks.

## Convex blade

The blade is made from CPM Cru Wear steel, a tool steel that is known for its exceptional sharpness retention. Sharpen it once, and it'll stay that way for an impressively long time. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: CPM Cru Wear is not completely stainless. Make sure to clean the knife after use and occasionally apply a drop of oil to keep it in great shape. Bark River considers Cru Wear to be a very similar steel to CPM 3V. The edge has been enhanced with a convex grind which you can maintain by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).

## Canvas micarta handle

The handle is made from canvas micarta. A strong and light-weight material, made from linen and synthetic resin. It is comfortable to hold, even in wet or cold conditions.

The Bark River Bravo 1 comes with a leather belt sheath (max. belt width 5.0 cm). 

Bark River Knives makes all of its knives almost entirely by hand. As a result, each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials, a knife will have a unique look. The knife you receive can therefore be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.
