The **Bark River Fox River II LT** is a relatively lightweight hunting knife. The original Fox River has been one of Bark River's most popular hunting knives for years. Here we have the Fox River II: the big brother. This is also the LT version, where LT stands for Lite. Therefore this is the lightweight version of this fantastic knife. Because the blade is also a little thinner, this knife is absolutely amazing to work with. A real *slicer*. Not only great for hunting purposes, but also as a light bushcraft knife.


The blade is made from CPM 3V steel, a tool steel that is known for its exceptional strength. It is very hard to break, and also retains its sharpness well. You do, however, need to be careful with moisture and acids: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. Make sure to clean it after use and occasionally apply a drop of oil to keep this knife in great shape. The edge has a convex grind that can be maintained by [stropping it](/en/ct/stropping.htm).



The handle is made from Desert Ironwood, a type of hardwood mainly found in the United States and Mexico. It has a distinctive colour and a beautiful grain pattern. This stunning wood makes the knife look extra luxurious.



The Bark River Fox River II LT comes with a leather belt sheath. You can carry it either upright (belt width up to 5.5 cm) or diagonally (belt width up to 6.0 cm). The sheath also has a loop for a firesteel (max. diameter ~6.0 mm).



Bark River Knives makes all of its knives almost entirely by hand. This means that each knife is unique. Especially when working with natural materials, a knife may differ from the photos. Therefore the knife you receive might be subtly different from the product photos. The model and type of material, however, will always be the same.

Ein Messer mit einer wunderbar schönen klassischen Form, der Schwung auf dem Rücken und die reduzierte Form der Klinge in Verbindung mit dem Schliff sind einfach unglaublich schön. Lange hab ich gewartet bis dieses Messer verfügbar ist.
Der BarkRiver typische ballige Schliff vereint das Beste beider Welten: Stabilität und Schneidfreudigkeit.
Trotz der relativ langen Klinge liegt der Schwerpunkt des FoxRiver2LT aufgrund des FullTang direkt hintern/auf dem Zeigefinger, was das Messer führig sehr macht. Der Messerrücken ist Schrfkantig ausgeführt, würde auch für einen Feuerstahl gut funktionieren.
Einziger Punkt ist vielleicht das Nachschärfen des FoxRivers 2 LT das das Schliffbild etwas verändern würde. Ich schärfe bis jetzt allerdings nur die Schneide mit einer leichten Fase.
Alles in allem wunderschön gefertigt und ein richtiger Hingucker den ich gerne verwende wobei es auch ein Sammler- und Erbstück ist.
