Wow, wow, wow! This **Böker Patina Damascus** is truly an amazing chef's knife! Do you want to own one? Be quick! This knife was only produced 50 times worldwide! As such it is no surprise that we are happy and proud to be able to offer these knives to our customers. It goes without saying that these knives are numbered and come with a certificate of authenticity, just like with other works of art.


The handle of this exceptional kitchen knife is enhanced with the classic Solingen design, but is, because of the birch wood and copper rivets, just as appealing and functional as the blade. The unique pattern of the, by hand selected, curly birch wood makes each individual knife truly unique. 


The non-stainless steel premium Damasus steel was forged in 180 layers. This was carried out by hand by Chad Nichols from Mississippi: one of the most famous Damascus blacksmiths from the knife making community.


Even though the Damascus blade of this special model won't develop an extra visible patina, it is clearly a part of the Böker Patina knife collection. Compared to other non-stainless steel knives, these knives are exposed to acid during the production process and patinated in a controlled manner to bring out the various layers of Damascus. 


As soon as this premium type of steel is forged, the knife has quite the road to travel before it is finished. After forging the piece is punched in the Böker factory in Solingen. It is heated and pushed into a solid mould by a two-ton hammer. Afterwards the knife is gradually cooled, deburred and calibrated. This process creates a wild Damascus pattern which is just as unique as a human fingerprint. After its travels it is ready for a new adventure - perhaps in your kitchen?
