These extremely hard grains of silicon carbide are intended to flatten the surface of the sharpening stones again. You use them in combination with a flattening surface. It is common that sharpening stones wear out a bit after lots of use. After flattening them they will be as good as new.

Gros grain bien tranchant pour la pierre, nettoyage et rectification de la pierre sur la plaque de verre pour des pierres à gros grain genre 220, faire juste une petite finition sur plaque à l'eau après pour adoucir

Met deze korrels kan je zonder probleem je (Japanse) slijpstenen vlak maken. Neem een glasplaat (ik heb een spiegel genomen van ongeveer 40x35cm), leg die op een plat vlak met een handdoek eronder. Strooi vervolgens een halve koffielepel slijpkorrels erop, besprenkel met wat water en je kan je stenen perfect vlakken. Er ontstaat een slurry van de steen zelf met de korrels die de perfecte pasta vormt voor het vlakken.

ik heb het poeder net voor het eerst gebruikt. het is wat fijner dan het op de afbeeldingen lijkt. in plaats van de zware plaat die Knives and tools aanbied gebruik ik een gepensioneerde glazen snijplank en dat werkt perfect. tip voor iedereen: dit is dus één klusje waarvoor een glazen snijplank wel geschikt is. deze korrels slijpen lekker snel maar laten een wat pokdalig oppervlak achter. de potloodstrepen die ik op mijn Skerper basic 1000-3000 had gezet waren na een cirkeltje of 30 over het glas al verdwenen. het oppervlak kon ik met een paar halen van mijn Naniwa dressingstone weer glad maken.

ik zou dit product zeker aanbevelen

De silicarbide werkt erg goed bij het vlakken van wetstenen op een vlak stuk glas. Het is vrij grof, maar het wordt steeds fijner naarmate de wetsteen er langer overheen gehaald wordt.
