The **Fällkniven F1 CoS** is a top-quality survival knife, specifically designed for pilots from the Swedish air force. It took 8 years to develop this model. The result of many tests and changing the design is an advanced, well thought-out and safe knife which combines strength with a modern design. The Fällkniven F1 is versatile and can be used while hunting, camping or during trekking or survival adventures.


This is the CoS version of the famous Fällkniven F1. This means that the blade is made from laminated CoS steel. A cobalt type of steel that retains its sharpness well and is also easy to sharpen. Because the CoS core is laminated in between two layers of tough steel the blade is even stronger.



The edge of the Fällkniven F1 is enhanced with a convex grind. This means that the blade is curved towards the edge. The result is an incredibly strong and sharp edge. To maintain this edge we recommend stropping it in time.



The handle is made from Thermorun. This is a rubber-like plastic that offers you enough grip. The fact that Fällkniven took the arctic climate of Sweden into account is clear when you look at the construction of the handle. The tang of the blade, the steel part that is located in the handle, is wrapped in Thermorun. As a result your hands won't freeze to the knife in very low temperatures. Even in the heat this works well because your hands won't burn if the knife was left in the sun for a while. So very well thought-out.



The Fällkniven F1 is one of the most popular outdoor knives ever. Its versatility, production quality and practical size make sure this knife can come in handy everywhere. This version with CoS-steel is even better.

Echt perfect, bescheiden formaat en gewicht, handzaam, ligt zeer comfortabel in de hand en het mes is razend scherp. Uitstekend voor divers werk, onder andere aan scheepstouwen. Het blijft een mes, maar het is er niet een waar mensen meteen van schrikken. De zytel schede is licht en compact en prefereer ik boven de minder handige leren versie. Is ook makkelijker te modificeren. Kortom een aanrader!

I absolutely love this knife. Possibly the best you can buy for this price. Very heavy duty, you can honestly chop down little trees with it, and although sharpening a convex blade takes a little practice the added strength and durability of the blade makes it totally worth it for me. The convex shape also makes it rather suitable for skinning animals and working wood. Keeping in mind that this is an allround knife, it does both remarkably well. For finer woodwork like spoon carving it is a bit heavy, but it can still be done with good results. The handle is perfect for smaller and average size hands, but maybe a little small if your hands are rather big (male). The fact that the handle goes all the way round means you never touch steel and that is very comfortable both in cold and hot and sunny conditions.

de premier abord j’ai remarqué que le couteau n’était pas symétrique, c’est à dire plus affuté à gauche qu’à droite, une différence de 2mm, visible grâce aux trois couches d’acier laminée. 
Et puis il ne coupait pas vraiment bien, j’entends par là qu’il ne coupait même pas une feuille de papier, bref j’ai dû le passer à la naniwa 600, 1000 et 3000 puis un coup au cuir pour qu’il coupe correctement. 

À ce tarif là, le sentiment qu’il me reste c’est juste la déception...
