The Fenix HP30R is a very strong LED head light. A beam of 1750 lumen from a head light is unheard of, especially when you have a reach of 202 meters. For this reason the Fenix HP30R is perfect for challenging outdoor trips. Hiking in the mountains, trips through the jungle or expeditions in the snow. However, also on a professional level the Fenix HP30R will stand its own! Think of the fire department, the army and rescue workers.
The Fenix HP30R head light has been equipped with three LED lights. Two LED lights for a wide short-distance beam and one large long-distance LED light with a large reflector. As such you will determine the amount of light per situation. After all, in your tent you will need less light than when you are climbing a mountain trail at twilight.
A clever and very useful feature of the Fenix HP30R is that you can recharge it. It pulls its strength from the separate battery pack you can carry around in your backpack or coat pocket by means of a long cable. This pack comes with two 2600mAh 18650 batteries to make sure you don’t have to purchase those separately. However, you could, if you desire, upgrade to the Fenix 3500mAh-version to extend the life of the battery. You can recharge your battery pack with a common micro-USB cable which also comes with the flashlight. Another useful aspect is the fact that you can also use the battery pack as a power bank to charge your phone. Fortunately all the weight of the battery pack is not stored in the head light. Because you do not carry the pack on your head you won’t strain the muscles in your neck when you use it for longer periods of time.
To properly guide the cable from the head light to the battery pack this flashlight also comes with a couple of clips. You attach these clips to the head band. You use a steel clip to attach the cable to the collar of your jacket. In order to use the Fenix HP30R on a helmet you need to use the Fenix ALD-02 helmet mounting clips.
Please note: in the battery pack you will find a small plastic disc. You need to remove this disc before you can start using the light.
