With the **Jack Wolf Knives Javelina Jack Natural Canvas Micarta**, Benjamin Belkin of Jack Wolf Knives once again releases a stunning design with a fantastic finish. The Sowbelly pattern owes its name to the round shape of the handle, which is reminiscent of a pig's belly. The name 'Javelina' is a subtle nod to this pattern, as it's a different name for the South American skunk pig or peccary. All in all: a great gentleman's knife of the highest-quality!

## Hollow grind CPM S90V steel blade

The blade of this Jack Wolf pocket knife is made from CPM S90V steel from Crucible. A premium type of American steel that retains its sharpness extremely well. The clippoint blade has a very neat hollow grind, which gives the knife great cutting capabilities. You open the blade with the nail nick, then a slipjoint keeps the blade in its open position. This mechanism provides some resistance but isn't a full lock. As such, you can legally carry this pocket knife in many places in Europe.

## Titanium and micarta handle

The handle is made from titanium with a micarta inlay. This is a composite material made from canvas and plastic. The cool thing about micarta is that it forms a patina over time. This will make your knife entirely unique!

The knives are produced in China, where they manufacture every part with the utmost precision using modern production methods. Much of the work is done by hand. Très beau couteau et très qualitatif, la finition étant irréprochable et les matériaux employés de très bonne qualité. Il n'y a pas de verrouillage de lame, mais le ressort est très ferme, avec un cran à 90° lors de la fermeture (et de l'ouverture) ce qui évitera à la lame de se refermer brutalement sur les doigts un jour où l'on est distrait. L'ouverture à une main ne me paraît pas envisageable, mais certains y arrivent peut-être.
Le micarta est doux mais pas glissant, très bien raccordé avec le titane autour du pivot, qui lui aussi n'est pas aussi glissant que je le craignais. Le manche n'est pas très grand et les grandes mains ne seront probablement pas à l'aise (je ne suis pas concerné, je ne peux donc que supposer).
Il n'y a pas de clip, mais ce n'est pas plus mal, ni de passant pour dragonne, ce qui est aussi très bien. Cela évite les trous disgracieux lorsqu'on enlève les clips qui sont rarement ergonomiques sur les petits couteau, et qu'on ne met pas de dragonne.
C'est un peu cher à mes yeux en valeur absolue, mais les couteaux comme ceux-ci, faits en séries limitées et avec des matériaux hauts de gamme sont rarement donnés.
