The **Kizer Sequoia** is an elegant fixed knife made by Kizer. A remarkable knife because Kizer mostly produces folding knives. With the introduction of the Sequoia they expand their modest collection of camping knives. The Sequoia was designed by Eric Garza after he visited Sequoia National Forest. It is also how the knife got its name. During his visit he came up with the idea to design a compact camping knife that would be perfect for both survival and bushcraft purposes. He was very successful! The Sequoia does not disappoint.

 When you take a fixed knife with you on a hike or when you go camping you need to know you can easily maintain it. For that reason the 1095-carbon steel is enhanced with a coating. This largely prevents corrosion. You only occasionally need to pay some attention to the edge.

 This, of course, comes up when you start sharpening the blade. If there is rust on the blade you can easily sharpen it off. Especially because 1095 is easy to sharpen. Another great thing about 1095-carbon steel is that it is incredibly tough. It can handle quite a lot and won't easily break.

 The ergonomics of the handle are perfect. Because of the curves in the G10 handle the knife feels comfortable in hand. The spine of the handle has been enhanced with ridges. The perfect place to place your thumb to make sure you have enough control over the knife as you use it. You can easily take the Sequoia with you in the kydex sheath. It is enhanced with a very solid belt clip that is also made from kydex.

Très beau petit couteau, prise en main agréable, mais moyennement ergonomique. En fait, il semble prévu pour être tenu "sur l'avant", avec un doigt dans le finger choil... Bon, le manche aurait pu être 1cm plus long et virer le finger choil, dont je ne suis pas fan... Mis à part ça, super qualité de fabrication. L'étui en Kydex est un poil dur, il faut le faire, car au début le couteau rentre, mais ne ressort plus !!! :-)) Conclusion, j'aime bien ce petit couteau, malgré ses particularités... Ce n'est pas celui que j'apporterai en rando (le BK16 est bien mieux), mais il est beau.
