The **Spyderco Minarai Bunka Bocho from the Murray Carter Collection** is a multi-functional knife, suited to cut meat, fish and vegetables. Bunka Bocho means 'cultural knife' because of its role when preparing traditional Japanese dishes. Similar to the santoku knife the Bunka Bocho also has a tapering t.

## Minarai collection

This collection is comprised of five different knife styles: the Petty, Funayuki, Nakiri, Bunka Bocho and Gyuto. Made in Japan according to the demanding Spyderco norms. The tapered shape of the spine of the blade towards the tip is characteristic for this knife. Minarai means 'looking and learning'; a typical Japanese way of describing the role of the student. As such the Minarai collection, in all its simplicity, also embodies the mind of the student.

## Spyderco Minarai collection blade

Each blade is made from CTS BD1N steel. Quite the mouth full. In short it means that it is a stainless type of steel that is easy to sharpen. It is quite strong and retains its sharpness well. Simply a great fine type of steel. As with all Spyderco knives these kitchen knives are enhanced with an exceptionally thin grind for perfect cutting performances.

## Spyderco Minarai collection handle

The handle of the Minarai collection is enhanced with the traditional octagonal shape. The handle is made from polypropylene with a subtle structure. A versatile material because it offers you enough grip, whether your hands are dry or wet or if you are wearing gloves. In short: a great lightweight material that offers enough grip but it still rock-solid.
