The **The James Brand The Duval Micarta KN109143-00** is a fancy and modern gentleman's knife. For this knife, the experts at The James Brand became inspired by the rich history of the Traditionals. The classic pocket knives your grandfather used to own. These knives, however, can be opened with two hands, and a complete lock is missing. Both issues were 'solved' for The Duval.



You can quickly open it with one hand with the front flipper. At first this opening mechanism might take some getting used to. Afterwards opening the knife will be just as fast as when using a conventional flipper. The advantage of the front flipper is that the 'flipper tab' does not protrude from the side of the handle.



All materials used are very modern. The blade is made from CPM S35VN. This is a premium type of steel that was developed in cooperation with a couple leading, American knife makers. It retains its sharpness for a long time, is relatively tough and easy to sharpen. Great features for a knife you use on a daily basis.



The liners are made from titanium. A light-weight material that is also used in the aviation and aerospace industry. Characterizing for titanium is how tough it is. That is why it is perfect for a framelock that needs to bend thousands of times when locking and unlocking. The scales are made from micarta. That's a composite material of linen and synthetic resin. Due to the relatively coarse finish it offers enough grip. Micarta absorbs the greases from your skin, making each knife unique in time.
