The **TOPS Knives Shango XL** is a light-weight survival knife, designed by Joe Flowers. With the Shango XL he has introduced a knife that will feel at ease everywhere. With a weight of only 165 grams you hardly notice that you are carrying it with you. In the included MOLLE sheath you can hang it from your belt, backpack or tac-vest.


Many survival knives are made from carbon steel. Incredibly stong, but prone to rust. For that reason the Shango XL is made from 440C. This is a type of steel that can handle its own and is also easy to sharpen. More importantly, 440C is stainless. As such this knife will also be great companion in humid environments.


The blade is relatively thin which also makes the Shango XL perfect for food prep and hunting purposes. The end of the micarta handle is a little broader which means you also have enough grip during some light chopping work.


When you loosen the messing screws on the handle you will find a small compartment located in the handle. Here you can store tinder, a firesteel or some money. At the end of the pliers you will find a small cut-out. You use this part to scrape a firesteel.


The TOPS Shango XL comes with a luxurious MOLLE sheath. This sheath has a small pocket with enough room for a sharpening stone or other small survival tools.
