The **Viper Sakura chef's knife 20 cm ziricote wood, VT7518ZI** is the showpiece of the Sakura collection. The edge runs over the entire length of the blade. As such it is possible to make extra-long cutting movements. In addition, such an edge is relatively easy to sharpen. Because of the 5 cm high blade scooping up ingredients will be a piece of cake!

 ## Viper Sakura kitchen knives

 The Viper Sakura kitchen knives were designed by two famous Danish designers: [Jens Ansø](/en/ct/jens-anso-knife-designer.htm) and Jesper Voxnaes. Together they are responsible for designing, amongst others, pocket knives, bushcraft knives and kitchen knives. Many of these knives were designed in cooperation with knife manufacturers. In this case the popular Italian brand Viper. The design looks graceful and classic because of the wooden handle, the embellishments on the blade and the rivets. The shape of the knife and the steel used are, however, incredibly modern!

 ### The blade

 The full-tang blade is made from Nitro-B and has a hardness of 59 HRC. This remarkable stainless steel has been alloyed with extra nitrogen by multiple cryogenic treatments. As a result the Nitro-B steel retrieves its hardness from the nitrogen molecules and not from the carbon molecules as is the case with carbon steel. As such the blade is not only remarkably hard, it is also corrosion resistant.

 ### The handle

 The handle is made from ziricote wood. This Central American dark ziricote wood has a high density and can handle decay, making it a very stable type of wood. The wood is mounted to the steel with two stainless steel and stunningly engraved rivets. In addition, in between the blade and the wooden handle you will find a stunning embellishment which gives the classic design of the knife with an elegant and warm finish.

 ## Viper

 Viper Tecnocut has been a popular knife manufacturer working from the Italian city of Maniago for over hundred years. They are already known for their excellent hunting and gentleman's knives, but now also offer excellent kitchen knives!
