The **WMF magnetic knife block with cutting board** allows you to store your knives in a nice, easy and safe way. The magnetic knife block is made from beautiful and sturdy oak and accommodates six kitchen knives with a maximum blade length of 25 cm. Of course, the amount of knives that will fit depends on the size of the knives. The knife block features suction cups, so it always stands firmly on the countertop. In addition, the two slots will accommodate a sharpening steel with a maximum diameter of 1.3 cm and scissors or carving fork. This last slot is 2.8 cm wide and 1.2 cm high.

## Bamboo cutting board

This knife block comes with a beautiful bamboo cutting board. The cutting board measures 33.5 cm wide, 25.5 cm long and 1.9 cm thick. Bamboo doesn't absorb any water and is therefore the perfect material for a cutting board. In addition, bamboo is an incredibly sustainable type of wood. The only thing bamboo plantations need is sunlight and water. Within a couple of weeks the bamboo stems are ready to be harvested. After the harvest the plants stay in place and continue to grow until the next harvest.

## Cleaning your cutting board

To make sure your cutting board stays in great shape you need to maintain it! Fortunately this isn't as much work as you might think. Clean the board after use by holding it under a tap and dry it with a towel. The cutting board is not dishwasher safe. Place the board upright (or hang it) to make sure it dries properly.

## Adding oil to your cutting board

Wooden cutting boards need to be maintained. To make sure the cutting board stays in great shape we recommend adding a coat of oil before use. It makes the cleaning process easier, the wood won't dry out, and it ensures that scratches are less visible. It is best to use a flavourless and fragrance-less oil. Almond or grape seed oil, for instance. (Please note: we do not recommend using almond oil if you are allergic to nuts). White mineral oil is also possible, but we recommend using [Eden cutting board oil](/en/pt/-eden-essentials-mineral-oil-for-wooden-cutting-boards-120-ml.htm). Don't use olive oil because it will become sticky. Something you, of course, want to avoid. Add a coat of oil once every month.
