The **Wüsthof sharpening steel 4483, 23 cm** has a diamond-coated grinding layer. This means the sharpening steel is suitable for sharpening the hardest steels. An additional advantage is that diamond does not wear down. Therefore the sharpening steel has an exceptionally long lifespan.


When choosing a sharpening steel, the choice of material is a major factor. As stated above, diamond sharpening steels do not wear and can last a lifetime. Ceramic sharpening steels do wear, but have the advantage of removing slightly less material. This makes them better for the lifespan of your knives if you sharpen them often. Pay special attention to the length: the sharpening steel should be at least as long as the longest kitchen knife you want to sharpen with it.
