The advice is only three knives are needed: a chef's knife, a paring knife and a bread knife. Space for seven is therefore fine. Bought this because a knife block gets dirty, is hard to clean and takes up surface space; a magnetic strip means nothing can obstruct on the surface between you and the wall. Drawer space is therefore easiest and this is neat and keeps the knives protected. Well made, does the job. No rubber on the bottom to prevent slipping, but that is hardly an issue. Haven't tried others so cant really comment on comparisons or value for money. Happy with this though.
