The **Böker Plus Caracal Folder** is a robust pocket knife, designed by Boris Manasherov. When you hold the Caracal you immediately notice the great ergonomics. The G10 handle is thinner in specific parts. As such your fingers fold around the handle even better. This tells you that it is not only great to look at, it is also built to be used.

 The blade is made from D2 steel. A type of tool steel that is similar to stainless steel but can stain during long-term exposure to acids. The spine of the blade is nice and thin. In addition, from the thumb hole a stylish groove runs towards the tip. A set of ball bearings ensures that the blade moves smoothly.

 This version of the Caracal is very special. It is  a slipjoint which can be transformed into a fixed knife! The backspacer contains a little pin you can remove. Once opened you can place the pin in the hole above the pivot. It ensures that the blade can no longer close. After use you can simply remove the pin and put it back in the backspacer. Incredibly practical!

 You can safely carry the Caracal in your pocket with the deep-carry pocket clip. It is cleverly attached to make sure you place it for left and right-handed use. Are you looking for a stylish and ergonomic pocket knife that can also handle heavy-duty tasks? If so the Böker Caracal is a great choice!

Robustes Messer, allerdings ist die Einhandöffnung schwierig. Wenn der Pin eingesteckt ist um die Klinge zu arretieren, hat die Klinge Spiel.
Bei dem Pin hat der kleine Ring gefehlt.

This is my second folder from the Boker range and again, I'm not disappointed. Its design encompasses everything I like in a knife -drop point, satin finish, high flat grind and a good quality steel (D2 tool steel). If there's a criticism it's that its locking mechanism is a little too easy to open and close however, a cleverly hidden pin is available to turn it into a fixed blade should the job at hand require it, thus removing any concerns of accidental closure. I found the G10 scales a little sharp on the fingers on the underside of the grip, easily remedied with a rub from a 600 grit paper. The pocket clip was uncomfortable in the palm after some use but again, easily fixed by swapping it to the other side. The Caracal folder is a big, solid knife, beautifully designed and well constructed. Recommended. 

Bonne prise en main. Bel équilibre lame-manche. Le blocage de la lame est pratique et  rassurant selon l'usage. Petit bémol concernant le léger jeu une fois la lame bloquée. 
L'axe de verrouillage (rangé à l'arrière du manche), est livré avec un anneau que j'ai enlevé pour éviter qu'il reste accroché. L'axe une fois tangé tient vraiment bien dans son logement.
Un bel objet.



Top EDC Messer! Gerade noch kompakt genug um bequem in der Hosentasche Platz zu finden, aber trotzdem ein "richtiges" Messer in der Hand. D2 Stahl, top Verarbeitung! Kann sich leicht mit dem Pin feststellen lassen falls man länger damit arbeitet. Alles in allem mein neues Lieblings EDC.
