The **Civivi Elementum Fixed Blade** is a cool fixed version of the popular Civivi Elementum. You clearly see design elements such as the flipper, which, for this knife, functions as a finger-guard. This fixed version won't close like a pocket knife. As such the knife is a little more robust and better suited for outdoor use. Like hiking through nature or a weekend of camping.



The blade is 10 cm long in total and made from D2 steel. This is a tough tool steel that retains its sharpness well. It's also easy to sharpen, which is handy if you use the knife often. Do, however, be careful with rust: D2 is not completely stainless. So clean the knife after use, especially when (fruit)acids, salt or moisture came into contact with the knife.



The handle is made from solid G10 scales. The kydex sheath is enhanced with a belt clip. Because of the flat scales and thin sheath you can carry this knife close to your body. Great for EDC or practical purposes.

Mooi handzaam vaststaand mes. Het is een redelijk zwaar mes maar ligt daardoor solide in de hand en heeft een mooie balans als je hem vasthoudt. De kydex-schede past perfect en het mes klikt er stevig in vast en rammelt niet maar komt er mooi uit als je hem helpt met je duim. De schede schiet dan echt weg als je hem niet vasthoudt. Ik heb hem nog niet veel gebruikt maar ik denk dat het een mooie allrounder is voor allerhande taken en zal hem op camp-uitjes zeker meenemen. Civivi levert over het algemeen messen van topkwaliteit en dit is er eentje van. Totaal geen spijt van deze aanschaf. Enige minpuntje is de lanyard die er al opzit. Dit is iets persoonlijks maar ik ben daar niet zo van. Het mooie is weer dat je hem er heel gemakkelijk afhaald.

Toll verarbeiteter Alltagshelfer. Schickes schlichtes Design, schlanke Linie und für nahezu alle Aufgaben zu gebrauchen. 

Ein schönes Messer. Perfekte Größe, tolle Scheide. Lässt sich super am Gürtel tragen ohne zu stören und liegt toll in der Hand. Außerdem ist es super scharf.

Sehr schönes Messer. Der Griff aus G10 ist etwas weniger griffig, als die Micarta-Version. Insgesamt aber ein sehr scharfes und schlankes Messer. In Kombination mit Ulticlip (nicht dabei) und einer selbst gemachten Kydexscheide, lässt es sich top verdeckt als EDC fixed tragen. Die Originale Kydex ist top. Da sie das Messer aber bombenfest hält, hab ich mir ne neue gemacht. Diese ist im Taco design, dadurch schlanker und hält das Messer nicht ganz so fest. Dadurch kann ich das ganze an der Hüfte innerhalb des Hosenbundes tragen und leicht einhändig ziehen, ohne jedes Mal die Hose Zentimeter weit hoch zu ziehen. Grundsätzlich ist so ein Messer aber deutlich größer, als man in der Großstadt als edc braucht. Die nervig dämlichen 42a Vorschriften zu vergleichsweise harmlosen Einhandklappmessern, haben mich aber dazu gebracht, ein solches potentiell viel gefährlicheres fixed zu tragen als ein eben deutlich kleineres Klappmesser, das dann aber in DE nur illegal zu führen wäre.

Zurück zum Messer. Das schlanke Griffdesign, wird bei längerer Benutzung sicher zur Ermüdung der Hand führen. Wer da mehr Komfort möchte sollte über die contoured g10 Version nachdenken. Hier geht halt schlank vor Komfort. Wie bei den Elementum Klappmessern auch, überzeugt der Hohlschliff in Sachen Schneidfreudigkeit auf ganzer Linie. Die schwarze Beschichtung ist schön matt, wird sich aber (wie jede Beschichtung) mit der Zeit abnutzen. Beim abledern geht das sehr langsam und hat dann einen, wie ich finde, optisch interessanten Effekt.
Das messer ist fulltang, aber der Griffteil/Erl unter den Griffschalen skelletiert. Das macht es leichter und sollte hier die Stabilität nicht groß beeinträchtigen. Das hier ist kein Hackmesser und nur im Notfall für so bushcraft Zeugs wie batoning zu verwenden. Ich bin kein bushcrafer und auch nicht survivalmäßig unterwegs. Auf youtube gibt es zu diesem Messer und diesen Anwendungsbereichen aber Infos. Für alles was mir im Alltag begegnet (Karton schneiden, Brote schmieren, Obst töten, Verpackungen öffnen etc.) taugt es gut bis perfekt und kann voll überzeugen.

Fazit: Mehr Messer als nötig, aber sehr schön schlank, scharf und top verarbeitet. Civivi eben. Der Preis ist angemessen. Ich würde es wieder kaufen.
