Ik heb deze bijl gekocht om mee te bijlwerpen, deze bijl werd aanbevolen door knivesandtools.nl als hun #1 werpbijl. De bijl werpt heel prettig, zeker voor beginners. Er is wel 1 probleem: de bijl zit met een inbusje vast. Dit is voor geen enkel doel toereikend. Bij bijlgooien zal het blad na een paar ongelukkige worpen al losraken van de steel (zoals we reeds zelf ervaren hebben met 3 worpen). We hebben 4 van deze bijlen en ze zitten allemaal slecht vast. Gelukkig kan dit opgelost worden met een metaalboor en wat schroeven. Mocht je het geen probleem vinden om zelf aanpassingen te doen, dan is deze 'klusbijl' qua bijlgooien echt top. Anders zou ik verder kijken.

Very nice tool. Light enough to carry and fun to use. 

I did quite a bit of work to mine to tune it up. It came a little blunt and I had to reprofile the edge to make it cut well. The handle comes varnished and gave me blisters so I scraped it off and treated it with linseed oil. 

It’s now a good chopper but I do still prefer an axe because it’s a little too thin to be a good splitter and the straight handle is harder to hold on to than the fawn foot of an axe. 

One nice thing you can do is leave the handle at home and make your own when you’re in the woods to cut down on packing weight. I sharpened the tempered part under the beard so I can hold it like a knife and use it to carve a handle.

Les atouts e Tomahawk sont selon moi son poids et sa longueur de manche. La finition n'est pas parfaite mais les matériaux utilisés sont de bonne qualité, acier très correct et hickory impeccable pour le manche. En ce qui me concerne j'ai décapé la peinture de la tête, aiguisé le fil correctement et csutomiser le manche (teinture plus foncée et cuir). J'ai maintenant un tomahawk parfait et esthétiquement réussi.
