ESEE 6 is a great knife. I use it mostly for preparing fire wood - cutting and batoning. So far, It performed very well without any damage and it's still sharp. I carry another knife for preparation of food as I'm not sure if the black coating is food-safe. I would welcome a vesion without the coating. All in all I would recommend the knife - it will last forever.
