Roughly once every ten years, I purchase a new flashlight. Before I do, I research and try out many brands and models. (35 years ago I started with a non-LED AA Maglite). This one is my overall favourite! The amount of light at high mode is almost more than I will ever need. Usability (which is a matter of taste) is the best I have seen in a flashlight (I especially like the possibility to switch it off without having to turn the head or something, the simple but practical battery charge indicator and the access methods to normal and tactical modes). It is hefty, but not heavy. Not small, but small enough. Also, functionality like the ability to use CR123a's or a single 18650 battery is great. And, the inclusion of a good-quality holster is a plus. Just a few minor improvement possibilities that I see are: 1- no batteries included; for a flashlight in this price class I find that stingy; they could at least have provided a battery discount coupon so that you can choose your own favourite battery 2- knurling would have improved the grip; I wonder how it is when your hands are wet or oily 3- a tactical crown with tungsten contact points (like the Fenix TK16 v2 has) would have made it complete 4- the battery charge indicator does not work with CR123a's; this would be a nice addition
