With the Gerber Gator machete you do not only have a machete for chopping, but also a full-fledged saw. The back of the blade is equipped with full-fledged saw teeth. Ideal for cutting some thicker branches. The blade is made of rust-resistant steel with a higher carbon content and is pretty flexible. The blade is not extremely sharp, as it is intended as a chopping knife and the edge shouldn't be too thin for that. Of course, it is easy to sharpen it yourself, if you find this necessary. But actually it is not necessary for a machete to have a razor-sharp edge, due to it's function.   
  


The handle features a Gator Grip: a grip made of plastic with a soft and comfortable feel. It has a wrist strap that you can use to improve the grip. The blade is attached to the handle with 2 socket bolts. The added advantage of this, is that if after a while of use, some slack occurs on the blade, you can easily adjust it yourself. Of course, a solid nylon sheath is included in delivery. The machete is firmly secured with Velcro to make losing the knife practically impossible.

Very surprised by the quality for that price. Seems to be quite good build quality and after couple of days of use chopping willow all good. The cover is enough to protect it but not very good if you want to wear it on your belt.
All in all very nice.
