The **LionSteel M5 CPM 3V Knivesandtools Exclusive** is an all-round fixed knife. This knife can easily be used as a survival knife, but is also great as a hunting knife or all-round camping knife.

This is a special edition of the LionSteel M5. Namely, a Knivesandtools Exclusive. This means that this edition was specifically produced for Knivesandtools, and is only exclusively sold at Knivesandtools.

Remarkable about this Exclusive is the use of CPM 3V steel. This is an extremely strong, American type of steel. When you look up CPM 3V tests on Youtube you will see that this steel was improved to be extremely tough. As such this LionSteel M5 can handle its own! CPM 3V also retains its sharpness well and is easy to sharpen. Do be careful around acids and salt: CPM 3V is not completely stainless. It can therefore form a patina. Or rust, if you don’t maintain it well. Fortunately, a couple drops of oil once in a while will go a long way.

Like the regular M5, the spine of this edition is nicely rounded. As such you can apply pressure with your thumb when you use the knife, without it becoming uncomfortable.

The handle of this M5 is made from Canvas Micarta. It offers a lot of grip and will form a nice patina in time. As such the knife will become unique!

Another unique feature of this edition of the LionSteel M5 is the leather sheath. At first glance it might look similar to the regular M5 sheath. When you look at the back, however, you see that this sheath is MOLLE compatible. It is enhanced with leather MOLLE webbing.

This LionSteel M5 with CPM 3V was only produced a limited amount of times.

Great, tough, all-round knife, Amazing value for money. You are getting a knife that can do most things around camp well enough, without excelling in any. Overall it is a well balanced knife.
The blade geometry of the M5 favours toughness, the thickness behind the edge (as well as the excellent CPM 3V) is great for hard use without the risk of damaging the blade. Because of its balanced geometry, do not expect a super fine slicer, although it performs pretty well in food prep.
Ergonomics is amazing and the long handle can accommodate XL hands.
It arrived super sharp and after some wood work and light batoning, it still retained its edge, demonstrating a good thermal treatment of the steel.
It comes with a great leather sheath too.
I would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a balanced, robust all-round knife.

El acabado es impecable, a falta probarlo, lo recomiendo sin dudar. Si realmente es acero CPM 3V, es uno de los mejores aceros que he probado. Ergonomía bien diseñada, no hay puntos a criticar. Solo por mis preferiría que hubiera opción con funda de Kydex. Pero la conseguiré artesanalmente y será perfecto. 
Nota importante: DHL parcel en España es un desastre como opción para el envío.

I have several Lionsteel knives and have been really impressed with the materials, fit and finish are always spot on. I had said I wouldn't buy another as the one I've kept is the best. And then the ever excellent Knives & Tools send me details of yet another Lionsteel, the M5 this time. The one I've kept is the T5....... So no reason to bother with the M5 except... CPM 3V steel. How could I not. 🤷 And I'm glad I did. What an amazing blade. I've stropped it right down to 0.5 micron diamond emulsion and I have no doubt this will handle any job where sharpness is involved. And tough. A lot tougher than anything I've used before. Edge retention remains to be tested but I don't doubt that it will excel; results will be added as an EDIT. 
The micarta scales and beautiful and as always with Lionsteel, ergonomically brilliant, even with my 2xl+ sized hands. 
So far, it would need to be chiselled from my cold dead hand.
