The **Ontario RAT-2 D2** is the baby brother of the RAT-1. A nice and solid EDC pocket knife, for an even better price. This knife is a must-have for any knife enthusiast.

 We start with the blade. The blade is made from D2-steel. A hard, tough type of steel that retains its sharpness well. According to many it is a little better than the AUS8 on the 'normal' Ontario RAT. However, D2 is not 100% stainless so you need to be careful with (fruit) acids and moisture. The blade has a classic droppoint shape. A very common blade shape you can use for almost all daily tasks. Pointed enough for packages, enough belly to cut things on a base and a flat part to peel an apple.

 You can easily open the pocket knife with the double thumb stud. Once opened the blade is locked by a solid linkerlock. As such the pocket knife will never close during use. The top of the blade has been enhanced with ridges for additional grip for the thumb.

 The pocket clip can be attached in four different positions. Up, down, left, right. On each side you can find mounting holes. As such you can carry the knife 'tip-up, tip-down' and left and right-handed. You can decide for yourself where you want the pocket clip.

 The handle is made from glass-reinforced nylon. Also called FRN. Light-weight and incredibly strong. It feels solid and fits nicely with the knife. The handle is smooth enough to never damage your pocket. The handle is nicely shaped and feels great in hand. The handle has also been enhanced with a lanyard eye.

 With the Ontario RAT-2 you won't get a knife that will last a lifetime. You do, however, get a solid tool for not a lot of money. And yet, the knife doesn't feel cheap. The perfect companion to take with you on a daily basis.

Voor de prijs een prima mes hij is iets kleiner dan ik had verwacht maar dat is prima. Verder gebruik ik hem op mijn werk en alles waar ik hem voor wil gebruiken gaat prima. Makkelijk uit elkaar te halen en schoon te maken.

No tenia duda de esta navaja, he visto muchos videos suyos, es muy conocida, pero me llama la atención que en este tono de "Desert tan", sea un 20% más cara que la de empuñadura negra más normalita. No hablo de diferentes materiales de mangos sino de tonos. En todo caso, es una navaja muy original y que merece la pena tener en la colección.
