The **Böker Magnum Kids Folder Ebony children's pocket knife** has a blade and handle that are specially designed for use by children. The blade has a rounded tip for extra safety and a handle that is comfortable for any size of hand. The rounded tip is also perfect for things like spreading peanut butter in a sandwich!

You open the knife with two hands by using the nail nick. The knife has a slipjoint. This type of locking mechanism doesn't actually 'lock' the blade, but provides resistance from accidentally closing. This means you can legally carry this pocket knife in many places in Europe.

## Böker Magnum Kids Folder Ebony blade

The rounded blade does have a conventional sharp edge. Otherwise it wouldn't be much help! The blade is made from 440C steel. This type of steel doesn't retain its sharpness for a super long time, but this is compensated by the fact that 440C is incredibly tough. As a result, it is forgiving, and won't break easily during heavy tasks. Perhaps an even more important point is that the steel is very easy to sharpen. Ideal for learning to sharpen! In practice, this does mean that you have to do a little maintenance regularly, so you always have a sharp knife with you.

## Böker Magnum Kids Folder Ebony handle

The handle is made from ebony wood. This is a dark hardwood that doesn't just look beautiful, it is also highly resistant to falls, impacts and moisture. There is a small hole on the back of the handle that serves as a lanyard hole.
