The **DMT Sharpener Kit for Turners and Carvers** is comprised of a couple conical different-sized diamond-coated sharpening steels and a small sharpening plate. This set enables you to sharpen all serrated or curved blades. From sharpening a bread knife with small serrations to sharpening your wood working tools such as a gouge or spoon knife. The sharpening plate is great when sharpening tools with a straight edge or small pointed tools like awls.

## Grain size DMT Sharpener Kit for Turners and Carvers

All three sharpening steels have a grain size of 25 micron. This corresponds with a Japanese sharpening stone of approx. J500 Japanese grit. This grain size provides you with quick results and a very sharp edge. The sharpening steels are enhanced with a layer of monocrystalline, synthetic diamonds. Monocrystalline means that each diamond is comprised of one crystal. Unlike polycrystalline diamonds, monocrystalline diamond does not wear out as fast. As such it is great for a sharpening steel! 

## How to use DMT Sharpener Kit for Turners and Carvers

It's also good to know that a diamond-coated sharpening steel needs to be pre-sharpened. At first it might feel coarse, but this will become less after using the steel a couple times, after which it will have its desired effect.
