The **GiantMouse Clyde** is a cool EDC pocket knife designed by Jens Ansø and Jesper Voxnaes. Clyde is a remarkable case. A love child of Scandinavian, Japanese and Persian origin. So a messy mix. Or perhaps not? At least it's got the right attitude. 

 The GiantMouse Clyde has a slightly angular handle that feels a lot bigger than it looks. *Something Clyde says often.* It is remarkable that despite its straight lines it still feels great in hand. Green Canvas Micarta for the handle feels great and will start to discolour and stain due to the moisture and grease in your hands. Typical Clyde. The orange backspacer and thumb stud are in nice contrast. 

 Clyde's pointed blade is made from Elmax steel. A stainless type of steel that is tough, retains its sharpness well and is easy to sharpen. Clyde claims that you pronounce the name as 'El Max'. A wrestler from the seventies who competed in the Mexican wrestling competition. You open this knife with the thumb stud. A Linerlock locks the blade when opened.

 The fact that Clyde is remarkable is something you notice immediately. Do you dare to be his new babysitter?

Toek in de ACE Clyde voorbij zag komen op Knives and Tools sprak het design mij meteen aan. Helaas heeft het even geduurd voordat hij te koop was. De combinatie van oranje en groen micarta vind ik erg geslaagd. Wel heb ik gemerkt dat micarta erg gevoelig is voor vlekken (binnen een week waren al diverse verkleuringen zichtbaar). Na een tijd is de verleuring egaal verspreid en valt het minder op. Het openen gaat eenvoudig met de duimsteun en na wat oefenen is het lemmet goed open te flippen. Het mesje is wat kleiner dan de afbeelding wellicht zou laten vermoeden. Dit maakt het voor mij echter geschikt voor alledaags gebruik. Door de micarta greep is het gewicht ook laag waardoor je nauwlijks merkt dat je hem bij je draagt.

Excellent petit couteau. Plus petit et léger que le Biblio, sans doute un peu moins « hard worker », mais plus facile à transporter au quotidien EDC. L’Elmax est très facile à aiguiser.
