The **GiantMouse Ranae** is a remarkable diving knife, specifically designed for the 'Conventus Ranae'. This is an organization for former and current frogmen in the Danish army. This elite corps has only had 600 members ever since it was founded in 1975. The selection and training is incredibly strict and tough. On a yearly basis about 500-600 people try to become a member but only a few actually make it. Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark is one of the members of this 'Frømandskorpset'.

 For their special work underwater these divers need a special knife. The Ranae. The blade is pointed and sharpen on two sides. The other side is enhanced with serrations to make sure you can easily cut through rope, netting and other high-fibre materials. The blade is made from Böhler N690Co. This is a stainless type of steel that is often used for diving knives. You do, however, have to be careful around salt water: sooner or later even N690Co can rust if you don't take good care of it. So clean it after use with fresh water, and add a layer of oil or fat every once in a while. If you do the Ranae will look its best.

 The handle is made from FRN. This is a glass-reinforced plastic that is very strong. This specific version is extra special. The sea namely contains a little bit of alkaline, and some plastics can't handle that. This version of FRN can. So even during long-term and frequent use in the sea the FRN will stay in great shape.

 This knife is therefore perfect for diving work. But you should also be able to carry it in your gear. That is why a kydex sheath was made to size for the Ranae. It clicks into place with an affirmative click. To mount it to your gear it comes with two Blade-Tech MOLLE-locks (small). You can attach it in different ways to make sure there is always a way to secure the Ranae on a leg or shoulder strap.

 Only a limited amount of the GiantMouse Ranae was produced. Once sold out, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to obtain new stock. So be there in time.

 For every GiantMouse Ranae sold GiantMouse donates an amount to the Conventus Ranae.
