The Kershaw Emerson CQC-4KXL is the largest Kershaw-Emerson knife so far. The 8Cr14MoV steel blade is 9.9 cm long and pretty big for a Kershaw knife. The blade has a light-matted finish on the top part and the hollow part is stonewashed. This combination is quite rare, where normally the hollow part is light-matted.  
  


Emerson-designs’ knives have the recognizable ‘Emerson-wave’ on the back of the blade. When the knife is inside your pocket and you pull it out, the knife automatically opens. The ‘wave’ sticks on the edge of your pocket and opens the knife so you can use it right away.

Een aangename verrassing moet ik zeggen. Misschien de beste Kershaw tot nu toe.. scherp geleverd, goede lock en action.

Ook de service van KATO was weer uitstekend en ik ben een "lastige klant."

Deze viel tegen. Wat ik niet gewend ben van K&T. Ik kreeg hem niet geopend, zo strak zat het lemmet. En het lemmet was helemaal uit center. Heb hem hiervoor niet terug gestuurd maar zelf open gedraaid en alles hersteld, heb de Lockbar flink moeten terug duwen, want die duwde veel te hard tegen het lemmet. Er zat al een serieus "sleepspoor" van de Detend Ball op het lemmet van die paar keer dat ik hem nieuw probeerde te openen. Er is dus geen controle als er iets verstuurd word, en dat is wel jammer. Heb reeds meerdere messen gekocht bij K&T maar bij deze was het totaal niet goed. Maar nu werkt hij wel zoals het moet, maar het mag eigenlijk niet gebeuren.

Kwalitatief zeer hoogwaardig mes, lemmet houd zijn scherpte goed met zeer intesief gebruik en het vaak snijden door harde materialen slijp ik het mes eens per maand ongeveer. Het formaat is perfect naar mijn mening. Het uitklapmechanisme werkt goed en is ook goed bestend tegen vuil, stof etc.

'CQC' oftewel close Quarter Combat en wel nummer 4K uit een serie van 8. De 4K is echter maar 18,8 cm lang (lemmet 8.3 cm) en heeft een desert tan kleurig handvat en een zwart lemmet.
Deze 4KXL uitvoering heeft exact dezelfde vorm, maar  is 22,5 cm lang met een lemmet van 9,9 cm. De kleuren zijn zwart en stonewashed metaal. 
Daarmee is het een vrij lang en ook wel zwaar mes dat doet denken aan een overkill uitvoering van de Kershaw Oso Sweet met een thumb disc en een Emerson wave. 
Het is een schitterend mes dat vertrouwen uitstraalt. De afwerking en scherpte is zeer goed. In gesloten toestand is het lemmet perfect gecentreerd en de 'vroege' linerlock laat geen enkele speling toe.
Ik kan dit mes zeer zeker aanraden en als het dan toch wat groot lijkt, kijk dan eens naar de Oso Sweet van Kershaw
De afhandeling en bezorging was weer zoals je dat mag verwachten. 

mes is een topper, kan niks anders zeggen ziet er mooi uit en geen speling in lemmet en frame en heel mooi afgewerkt geen scherpe randen!! en vliegt van zelf open als je hem uit de broekzak trekt d.m.v de wave rug op het lemmet zeer tevreden over dit product en de service van K&T (snelle levering)
