The **Medford Chunky Monkey** is a short, thick pocket knife. Hence the name Chunky. The thick blade is enhanced with a thin hollow grind to make sure it is easy to use. You open the Chunky Monkey with the flipper. When opened it is locked by a thick framelock.

 The blade is made from CPM S35VN steel. The hollow grind on the blade was applied by hand. This is a unique feature: only a rare few producers apply a hollow grind by hand. With the thumb slot you can easily open the blade. At first this might take some getting used to. Medford pressed the stop-pin in the blade. As a result it symmetrically leans against the handle. This adds strength.

 CPM S35VN is a premium, stainless type of steel. For years this has been one of the most popular types of steel on the market. It is, for stainless steel, rather tough and relatively easy to sharpen.
