The Nitecore EC21 is a very compact and smart LED-torch. It is so compact, that you can hardly tell it works on a 18650-battery (or two CR123a-batteries). Special with this torch is the red LED in the lamphead. This doesn't only provide you with red light on the torch, but also allows you to quickly check the status of your batteries. By loosening and fastening the lamphead slightly, the red LED will start blinking. If it blinks 4 times, you are sure to have plenty of capacity. Does it only blink once? Then you know you have to charge or change the batteries.
