The **Rick Hinderer FireTac** is a unique knife, produced by Rick Hinderer Knives. Originally this was a custom model that was only produced by Rick Hinderer himself. Now there is also a 'production version', but it is still a very exclusive knife. This model was only produced a limited amount of times. Remarkable, especially when compared to the XM collection, is that the handle is slimmer. As such it won't take up too much room in your pocket.



The blade is made from CPM 20CV-steel. A premium type of powder steel, which means that the steel has a very fine structure. As such it stays sharp for a very long time. 20CV is also corrosion resistant. This shape is very versatile, perfect for real users. In between the flipper and the edge you can find a finger choil. This allows you to have more control over the blade during the more precise cutting tasks.



You open the FireTac with the (double) thumb studs. This is the newest generation of FireTacs with the Tri-Way Pivot system. The knife is enhanced with ball bearings but you also receive bronze and teflon washers to make sure you can decide which bearings system you prefer. There is also a steel lockbar insert which makes the lock even more durable.



When opened, a solid frame lock ensures that the blade stays in place. A characteristic detail for Hinderer is the *lockbar stabilizer*. This is a round disc on the side of the titanium handle. It ensures that you cannot overstretch the lock. You can keep the FireTac close with the titanium pocket clip. This tip-down pocket clip is mounted to the right side, but with the philips screwdriver you can easily turn it into a tip-up pocket clip.



The Rick Hinderer philosophy is as follows: a knife is a tool that should work for you, never the other way around. For that reason Hinderer Knives are made to be used. This FireTac is the perfect example.
