It’s a shame when your (carbon steel) knife starts rusting. However, it can be solved easily! The Robert Herder Rust Eraser tool polishes the rust off of the blade. Be prepared for some light scratches after use, but this of course is always better than rust.

A carbon steel kitchen knife does need some attention. Therefore, Robert Herder has put together this special maintenance kit for carbon steel blades. The kit contains Ballistol oil for oiling the blade. This will clean the blade and prevent rust. It also contains the Robert Herder Holzpflegeöl. It is a macademia-oil based maintenance oil for the wooden handles of your knives. The maintenance kit also contains a polishing agent to polish your blade. This can also be used for stropping your knife.


When there is rust on the knife you can used the included Rust Eraser from this set. With the Robert Herder Rust Eraser tool you can polish rust off of the blade. Be prepared for some light scratches after use, but of course that is always better than rust. The supplied cloth is also very handy in cleaning your kitchen knives.

La gomme fonctionne super bien si l’oxydation est trop forte pour un polissage et que l’on a pas envie de passer par un ponçage. Elle semble plutôt résiliente et n’est pas trop chère par rapport à son efficacité et les beaux couteaux qu’elle vous sauvera… 

Une étape de polissage sera localement nécessaire car elle laisse un aspect rayé mat mais c’est logique cela reste un abrasif.

Ich hätte nicht für möglich gehalten dass das funktioniert. (schon gar nicht für diesen Preis) Aber der Radierer ist großartig!
