 Steels of synthetic sapphire (9,2 on the Mohs-scale), only a little softer than diamond (10 on the Mohs-scale). So you can even sharpen tungsten-carbide !

J’ai acheté cette barre céramique en utilisation manuel. La céramique de spyderco est vraiment top. Le grain est fin et il est parfait après avoir passé votre couteau sur une pierre plus agressive et finir le tranchant. Maintenant je m’en sers aussi directement si ma lame n’est pas trop émoussée. Bref c’est un très bon produit en complément avec la barre medium et ultra fine vous avez un trio gagnant.

Ik ben erg tevreden over dit slijpstaafje. Ook zonder de Sharpmaker is het goed te gebruiken.

L’affûtage obtenu est très fin, je dirais semblable à un grain entre 2000 et 3000 JIS en comparaison avec différentes pierres japonaises et Arkansas que j'ai.
Comme le produit est extrêmement dure il reste parfaitement en forme et permet par exemple d’affûter les couteaux au plus près de la mitre ce qui a tendance à abîmer les pierres plus tendres.
L'inconvénient de toutes les pierres dures (surtout en étant très fines), c'est quelles s'encrassent et il faut passer un peu de temps à la nettoyer ensuite. C'est bien si on a peu de couteaux à affûter.
Je n'ai pas de pierre d'origine de Spyderco donc je ne peux pas comparer.
Je trouve que c'est un peu chère pour une si petite pierre mais d'un autre côté quand on voit le prix des pierres céramiques utilisées dans l'industrie pour faire par exemple du polissage de moules, cette pierre reste compétitive.

Kann man eigentlich nur vier Sachen dazu sagen;

-Idiotensicher
-einfachach zu handhaben
-sehr effektiv
-sehr, sehr vielseitig

für mich das Beste was es (für das Geld) gibt.
