The **TOPS Knives Devil's Claw 2** is a cool karambit knife. An average knife collection suddenly becomes a lot more tactical with the addition of this Devil's Claw 2. The karambit has its origins as a combat knife in the Philippines. That influence can still be seen today, but it is now also appreciated that a knife with a blade like this can be good at other things too. The sharp hook is ideal for opening boxes and packaging.



The 1095 carbon steel blade is razor-sharp and has a black traction coating to prevent rust and reflections. That prevention against corrosion is a nice feature because 1095 is not corrosion-resistant. This means you need to take good care of the edge. A few drops of oil can't hurt. The benefits of 1095 are that it's extremely easy to sharpen and also very tough.



The handle can be used comfortably in various ways - hammer grip, reversed grip, all are possible with the Devil's Claw. The G10 fits comfortably in your palm, and the large ring at the end of the handle means that the knife never slips out of your hand.



The TOPS Devil's Claw 2 comes with a sleek Kydex sheath and a flexible belt loop, so you have lots of options for carrying it. It is mounted for scout carry, horizontally on the belt, as standard. So you can reach it nice and quickly. The knot in that loop is a special one: it only opens one way. Fortunately, TOPS provides a small manual that shows you how to open it.

Très bonne prise en main, naturelle, couteau bien équilibré, assez léger vu sa construction, agréable à  manier. Cependant c'est une grande griffe d’acier qui n'a pas un aussi bon tranchant qu’un autre TOPS de même taille par la forme de la lame et son émouture et qui est moins polyvalent. Un couteau très réussi mais plutôt tactique ou de collection.
