The **Benchmade Mini-Griptilian 555 S30V** is a practical EDC pocket knife, designed by Mel pardue. Ever since its first version many years ago the Benchmade Griptilian is definitely a classic in the knife world. Its ergonomic handle, perfect for both left and right-handed use, combined with different opening mechanisms and blade shapes make the Griptilian a legend in the pocket knife world.

 This Benchmade 555 Mini-Griptilian has a blade shape which resembles a sheepfoot shape. You open it with the royal thumb hole and Benchmade's famous axis lock locks the blade when opened. The handle is made from Valox. This is a brand name for a specific type of FRN (glass-reinforced nylon) which feels great in hand, is strong and doesn't weigh too much. In 2019 Benchmade decided to upgrade from 154CM-steel to CPM S30V steel making the Mini-Griptilian even better. CPM S30V is one of the few types of steel that is specifically developed for knives. It retains its sharpness well, and is very corrosion resistant.

Een paar weken geleden dit mes gekocht en ben hier heel erg tevreden over, scherp en makkelijk te openen met één hand.
Degelijk merk en ziet er ook nog eens supergoed uit.
En over knives and tools tja kan tot nu zeggen alleen maar zeggen dat ik er zeer tevreden over ben.

En soit le couteau fait le taff, en même temps a ce prix ca serais abusé.
cela dit pour ce prix on pourrais attendre mieux : 
- un gap inesthétique est laissé entre les plaquettes.
- les crans entre les platines et plaquettes ne sont pas alignée (ni alternée de façon méthodique)
- le montage/démontage est vraiment un coup a prendre.
- la forme de ressort benchmade n'est pas fiable sur la durée.

Un couteau à la construction robuste, de petite taille, ce qui n'est pas courant. Il a une bonne prise en main si l'on n'a pas de grande main (sinon le petit doigt ne porte pas totalement sur le manche). Un bon grip, une belle lame, un spyderhole efficace et bienvenu pour ne pas avoir à se taper un thumbstud sur une lame déjà petite.
La forme de lame permet un affutage bien régulier avec un biseau uniforme tout au long de la lame. Elle est toutefois épaisse et peu haute, l'émouture n'étant pas creuse, ce n'est pas un "slicer".
Toutefois, mon exemplaire souffre d'un très léger jeu droite/gauche de la lame si je ne serre pas le pivot au point de rendre l'ouverture et la fermeture désagréable même à deux mains (et impossible à deux mains). Au prix du couteau, je trouve cela décevant, heureusement que le couteau a d'autre qualité et que la lame reste bien centrée. Mais cela ne m'encouragera pas à acheter un autre couteau de cette marque.

Deze uitvoering komt weer super scherp uit de box en ben wel fan van CPM S30V staal dat blijft lang scherp!
De sheepfoot blade geeft wel een aparte look en zeker handig voor je dagelijkse snij taken tja de opening met de (spidey) hole razend snel!
Ik persoonlijk vind dit mes een aanrader om elke dag bij je te hebben zonder op te vallen.

Hormis un prix excessif, c'est un petit couteau EDC de qualité. On trouve la version "grand frère" pour beaucoup moins cher, un comble...
