The **Spyderco Byrd Rescue 2** is a practical rescue knife, designed to quickly and painlessly cut through seatbelts and clothing. When you, as an aid worker, often find yourself in situations where people need to be rescued from predicaments, this is the perfect knife for you.


This is a pocket knife from the Spyderco Byrd collection. That is the budget line within the Spyderco range.


The blade has a blunt sheepfoot shape with a straight edge. The tip is neatly rounded to make sure you won’t accidentally hurt a victim. You open the blade with the thumb hole and the backlock keeps it neatly in place. The edge is completely serrated. Perfect for cutting through high-fibre materials. In terms of steel the popular VG10 was chosen and the handle is made from FRN. That is glass fibre-reinforced nylon: very strong and light-weight.

Uitstekende budget knife van Spyderco/Byrd 
Ik ben normaal meer iemand die een plain edge liever heeft dan serrated maar ik kan de kwaliteiten van een serrated edge absoluut waarderen. Op sommige punten is een serrated edge gewoon beter en dat is de reden dat ik dit mes heb gekocht.

Ik gebruik hem voornamelijk voor takken snijden in de tuin, doorsnijden van touw etc en daar blinkt ie in uit.

Wat een geweldig mes is dit.
Hij maakt nu deel uit van mijn standaard EDC en zit dagelijks in mijn broekzak (samen met een mes met plain edge en die wisselt nogal)

De Byrd rescue 2 is een zeer scherp mes die heel goed in de hand ligt en een zeer stevige lock heeft. 
Hij kan alle taken die hij voor de kiezen krijgt prima aan.
