Swarovski CL Companion binoculars
What makes the CL Companion different from the rest of the CL line? It’s the binocular you can wear all day without discomfort, in 8x30 or 10x30. Small enough to always take with you, with an objective lens that’s still large enough to see in low light. For anyone who takes it along without knowing whether they’ll need it that day.
Features of the Swarovski CL Companion
The Companion is the medium-sized model in the CL line. Where the CL Pocket folds down into something that fits in a jacket pocket, the Companion stays unfolded and has a 30 mm objective lens. That gives you more light, and in low light that really matters: early in the morning and during the last half hour before dark.
8x30 or 10x30
With 8x magnification you get a better overview and a steadier image in the hand. With 10x you bring more detail closer, but you’ll also notice shake sooner. If you mainly watch moving animals, 8x is usually more pleasant.
One hinge instead of two
The CL Pocket folds shut on a double hinge. The Companion has one central hinge, like most binoculars: you set it once to the distance between your eyes and after that you just pick it up and look. That saves the seconds in which a roe deer disappears behind the edge of the woods again.
Taking it with you and maintenance
Do you wear glasses? Then leave the eyecups twisted in, otherwise you’ll be too far from the image and lose the edges. Maintenance is simple: blow sand off the lenses before using a cloth, and store the binocular dry.
