The Benchmade 477-1 Large Emissary 3.5 is the big brother of the 470 Emissary. This model is also designed by Osborne Design. The grip of the 477 is made of anodized aluminum which gives it a tight look and firm grip. The blade of S30V steel is very solid and sturdy. It has a strong assisted opening which helps the blade open the blade more easily. In the open position the knife locked by the famous axis-lock. The back of the knife has an extra lock that can block the knife even when it is closed.

Das Messer macht einen sehr hochwertigen Eindruck, die Verarbeitung ist sehr Gut und die Funktionalität ist richtig Durchdacht.

Ein wunderschönes Messer. Die Farbe ist ziemlich ungewöhnlich, passt aber sehr gut zu dem Osborne-Design. Über die Qualität braucht man eigentlich nicht viel zu sagen: Benchmade macht auch hier seinem Ruf alle Ehre. Beste Arbeit, sehr scharfe Klinge, Ausklappen verläuft sehr leichtgängig. Klare Empfehlung!

Die hohe Qualität von Benchmade-Messern ist über jeden Zweifel erhaben. Material, Verarbeitung und Finish fügen sich zu einem großartigen Messer zusammen, das auch noch eine ausgesprochen elegante Erscheinung ist. Als Gentleman-Messer ist es etwas zu groß, diese Rolle hat sein kleiner Bruder, das Benchmade 470 mit 3"-Klinge und kleinerem Messergriff übernommen. 
Der Griff besteht aus ganz fein angerauhtem Aluminium und liegt gut in der Hand. Die Griffschalen wurden aus einem massiven Block einer hochfesten Aluminiumlegierung CNC-gefräst, also nicht gegossen.
Der umsetzbare Clip ist ein sog. Deep-Carry-Clip der es erlaubt, das Messer fast unsichtbar tief in der Hosentasche zu tragen. Einen besseren und praktischeren Clip hat keines meiner vielen Messer.
