Acacia wood is far from monotonous in terms of colour. From light-brown to very dark brown and shades of red. It is what makes this type of wood so amazing. It is also very hard and has a natural anti-bacterial effect. Great for cutting boards!

## Cutting board maintenance

Wooden cutting boards need to be maintained. To make sure the cutting board stays in great shape we recommend adding a coat of oil before use. It makes the cleaning process easier, the wood won't dry out and it ensures that scratches are less visible. It is best to use a flavourless and fragrance-less oil. Almond or grape seed oil, for instance. (Please note: we do not recommend using almond oil if you are allergic to nuts). You can also use white mineral oil, but we recommend using [Eden cutting board oil](/en/pt/-eden-essentials-mineral-oil-for-wooden-cutting-boards-120-ml.htm). Don't use olive oil because it will become sticky. Something you, of course, want to avoid.
