The **Schrade Frontier Fixed Knife 4" 1121086** is a cool fixed knife, for an amazing price. It has a cool design with a sleek silhouette. But made to be used. The sleek lines might suggest that ergonomics would be quite the challenge. Fortunately, that's not the case: this knife feels great in hand. Its straight shapes mean you'll always know how to hold the knife, which is ideal for working in the dark, for instance. Use it during camping trips or hikes, at the campfire or simply for odd jobs around the house.



The blade is made from simple 3Cr13MoV, which is stainless and easy to sharpen. What more could you need? The handle is made from fibre-reinforced nylon (FRN), a strong material that offers plenty of grip. The knife comes with a nylon sheath.

eerste indruk bij ontvangst was goed. constructie is stevig en solide opgezet. 
Maar direct bij het hanteren kwamen er voor mij enkele issues boven: 
- bij het vastnemen ligt het mes, voor mij, onnatuurlijk in de hand, met name de 2de vinger keep (kleine). als je het mes daar vastneemt (natuurlijke positie voor het heft), dan is dit heft, voor mij "te kort". de vorm van het achtereinde ligt niet goed in de hand (hotspot) en geeft onvoldoende ondersteuning voor een zekere grip. 
- ook is er, volgens mij, hier een veiligheidsissue met die 2de keep. deze is niet groot genoeg, en loopt direct over naar de 1ste keep, welke aansluit op het scherpe lemmet. door de onhandige greep zal men heel snel en gemakkelijk doorschieten over het heft bij voorwaartse druk op de punt van het lemmet, recht in die eerste keep en de snede-aanzet. Met als gevolg snijwonden aan de vingers. 
- daar ik het mes primair had aangeschaft als lichtgewicht jacht/kampmes, om mijn neefje te leren omgaan met een mes op een verantwoorde manier, wanneer die mee erop uittrekt met ons groepje, vindt ik dit geen geschikt mes voor jongeren/ onervaren personen. het risico hier is zeer reëel op kwetsuren, daar er geen voldoende grote "hand/vingerguard" is. 
- kortom, voor mijn doeleinden was dit mes een miskoop en heb ik het daarom dan ook geretourneerd.
