History of Schrade Knives

Schrade Knives was founded in New York in 1904 and quickly gained a reputation for innovation, with multiple patents on knife designs. In 1946 it merged with Imperial Knives, resulting in the creation of Imperial Knife Associated Companies.

After bankruptcy in 2004, the brand rights were taken over by Taylor Brands, which moved production to China to remain competitive.
